65 lb Kingfish Live Bait Stinger Rig
This 65 lb live-bait stinger rig is made for kingfish that cut baits in half and never touch a single nose hook. The layout is simple and proven: a stainless steel swivel at the top, a single hook for the bait’s nose or lips, and two SeaWorx Reaper treble hooks spaced down the leader as stingers.
Hook a live bait through the nose with the front hook, then pin one point of each treble lightly into the back or near the tail so the bait can still swim. When a king slashes the body or tail first, a stinger is already in the strike zone. The 65 lb leader stands up to sharp teeth better than plain mono, and the swivel lets you change rigs without retying.
Use it slow-trolling, drifting, or free-lining bait from a boat or pier. Match the hook spacing to your bait size — cigar minnows, pilchards, menhaden, blue runners, and similar baits all work well on this style of rig.
