90 lb Wahoo Live Bait Stinger Rig
This 90 lb live-bait stinger rig is made for wahoo that hit hard, cut baits in half, and slice light leaders. The setup is the proven stinger layout: a stainless steel swivel at the top, a single double barb hook for the bait’s nose or lips, and two treble hooks spaced down the leader.
Pin a live bait through the nose with the front hook, then set one point of each treble into the back and near the tail so the bait can still swim. Wahoo often strike the mid-body or tail first; the extra hooks are already in that zone. The 90 lb leader gives more protection against razor teeth than a lighter kingfish-style rig, and the swivel lets you change baits or rigs quickly.
Use it trolling or drifting live baits such as goggle-eyes, blue runners, bonito strips, or similar offerings. The heavier test is a good choice when wahoo are in the mix, when baits are larger, or when you want a stronger version of a kingfish-style stinger.

How to use
- Attach the swivel to your main line or wind-on leader.
- Hook the live bait through the nose or both lips with the single hook.
- Place the first treble in the shoulder/mid-back and the second near the tail.
- Keep the bait swimming freely and don’t bury every point of the trebles.
